SARASOTA, Fla. — Tyler Glasnow understands the dichotomy he faces this spring. He began his offseason preparation earlier because he knows he is competing for a rotation spot. He had his full repertoire of pitches up and running Feb. 26.
“I need to go out and show people what I can do,” he said.
He also knows that buying into that mindset too much won’t help matters.
“I think the secret is just not doing more than you have to,” he said. “Don’t put too much pressure on yourself, especially in a position like trying to compete for a spot. Do everything like you know you can.”
